Sutter Orthopedic Services

From infants and children to the elderly, Sutter Health offers care at the highest standards for patients with bone, joint and muscle conditions, including arthritis and sports-related injuries. Throughout the Greater Sacramento region, Sutter's highly skilled orthopedic surgery specialists offer the latest innovations in care, supported by experienced staff and leading-edge advancements for diagnosis and treatment.

Through Sutter hospitals and outpatient surgery centers across the region, skilled surgeons provide a range of traditional, arthroscopic and computer-assisted surgeries, including performing the highest number of initial and revision total joint replacement surgeries for knees and hips in Northern California. In addition to surgery of the ankle, knee, hip, hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, Sutter orthopedic specialists offer innovative, less invasive treatments such as cartilage restoration, laser-assisted surgery and shockwave therapy. Sutter also offers diagnosis and care for back and neck conditions through orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons who specialize in conditions of the spine.

Adults and children also have access to a complete range of nonsurgical treatments from orthopedic specialists, as well as from other specialists who treat conditions that can affect the skeletal system. These specialists include pediatric and adult rheumatologists, oncologists, neurologists, endocrinologists, as well as certified physical therapists and specially trained hand therapists. Nonsurgical care is available within physician practices and also through Sutter outpatient rehabilitation centers located throughout the region.

Many Sutter orthopedic specialists also participate in clinical trials of new medications and medical devices under development through the Sutter Institute for Medical Research. Clinical trials offer volunteer participants the chance to gain access to the latest advances in orthopedic care.
